While we are licensed to sell annuities, we seldom recommend them as we feel that insurance and investments should generally not be mixed together. Financial Planning for Businesses

We help business clients as small as sole proprietors or as large as having more than 100 employees establish qualified retirement plans for their business. The proper plan will depend upon the number of employees, the average age of employees, the cash flow of the business, and how much the owner wishes to contribute to the plan on behalf of the employees. We will help you find the right fit for your business!

Financial Planning for Individuals

Our financial planning tool is proprietary and is one of the cornerstones and strengths of our business. Within about 20 minutes, we can tell clients whether they are on track to be able to maintain their current standard of living during their retirement years, and if so, at what age they are on pace to be able to afford to retire. The best way to learn more about this is to see it for yourself, so set up your free initial consultation!

Financial Advice & Consulting

We want our clients coming to us with assistance regarding anything in their financial lives, not necessarily just investments. Are you going to be making a car purchase? Talk to us first! Are you moving? Talk to us first! Considering starting a business? Talk to us first! Considering bringing in employees? Talk to us first!

Insurance Planning

We generally recommend term life insurance, and one of our advisors is licensed to sell insurance to residents of FL, IL, and HI. We generally do not recommend any permanent insurance policies or annuities, and we'll be happy to discuss the reasons for this during your free consultation!

Estate Planning & Trusts

We are VERY involved in the estate planning process. While our firm does not offer official legal advice and is not authorized to practice law, one of our employees is an attorney and does have an estate planning practice that is entirely separate from our firm. Also, we have the ability to help you create estate planning documents and trusts within guardrails that ensure that we are not practicing law. We also help make beneficiary recommendations for your estate that will help your overall estate picture be as tax efficient as possible.

Tax Advice and Services

We do not offer official tax advice, but we do want to make sure that you are as tax efficient as possible. We are well versed in tax rates and tax treatment of investments, and we also take a household view of your taxable income when we are making both investment AND beneficiary recommendations. We do not prepare tax returns, but we do work closely with your tax preparer. We are also very proactive in recommending things such as Roth conversions when they make sense.

Education Funding and Planning

We are very strong proponents of Section 529 college savings plans, but those are not for everybody. In general, college attendance is dropping, but fortunately there are new rules in place that will help clients avoid taxes and penalties if they have assets left in a college savings plan after their child completes their education. (subject to limitations). We help clients calculate what is needed for college and make the proper allocations.

Investment Advice & Management

We are very selective and efficient when it comes to investment management. We have relatively few investments that we recommend, and then we monitor those investments regularly and cater their allocation to each client based upon their time horizon and risk tolerance. We thoroughly review your investments with you during our regularly scheduled meetings.

Risk Management

While we cater our advice to each client's particular tolerance for risk, we also generally view risk as a good thing when it comes to long-term portfolios. Short-term assets must be protected by using lower risk instruments, but we generally want our clients taking as much sensible risk as they can tolerate with their longer term assets. We only advise pooled investment products such as mutual funds and ETFs so that clients remain diversified.

Money Management

We factor all of a client's assets into our wealth management picture, and that includes cash that a client may hold, as well as other investments that might be held outside of our firm. We want to make sure that everything is working together as seamlessly as possible.

Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy?

If a client leaves our practice, they are refunded any portion of fees that have been charged that we have not yet earned.

Why should I choose you as my financial advisor?

What makes us different? First of all, we hope that if you were to meet any one of our 7 employees face-to-face, you would see that their honesty, integrity, and desire for customer service shines through. We only hire people that leave integrity as a first impression when you meet them. We also have a very casual atmosphere during our meetings. We feel that this helps you feel like we are talking with you, not above you or down to you. We are careful not to use a lot of jargon or acronyms that you might not understand. We want you to feel as though a meeting is conversational, not one-sided. Also, we have a proprietary financial planning system. We don't use "off-the-shelf" planning software that is difficult to understand or that generates a 100 page report. With us, your plan is built by us and you can see it on one page.

How do you charge for your services?

Primarily a fee that is based upon assets under management. However, we do on occasion have hourly rates, as well.

Jim Hendricks, CFP(R) started Hendricks Wealth and Estate Management in 2004 and had two years of industry experience prior to that. Jim and Tom Anderson are your primary team members through this program. Tom started with the firm in 2025. The firm manages more than 900 households.
